Unlike conventional olfactometers that utilize an air compressor to push air through the system, this model employs a vacuum pump to generate stable negative-pressure airflow, gently drawing odor-laden air through the Y-tube while minimizing turbulence and pressure fluctuations.

 

The Y-tube has been specially modified for vacuum operation, ensuring smooth airflow distribution and consistent odor presentation throughout the experiment. This design significantly improves the repeatability and accuracy of insect choice assays while reducing the possibility of contamination caused by positive-pressure airflow.

  • SS Mesh Model (With SS Mesh): Specifically developed for clawed-legged insects. The integrated stainless steel mesh provides a natural gripping surface, allowing insects with claws to walk comfortably without slipping while maintaining the same controlled vacuum airflow conditions.

 

Both variants integrate seamlessly with vacuum pumps, activated charcoal filters, humidifier chambers, airflow regulators, odor chambers, insect collection chambers, and other olfactometer accessories to create a complete vacuum-based olfactometer system.
